Greg Hicks was appointed President and CEO of Canadian Tire Corporation (CTC) in March 2020, at a defining moment for both the company and the country. With a future-focused mindset, strong commercial acumen, and a deep belief in the power of people, he has led one of Canada’s most iconic enterprises through sustained disruption while positioning it for long-term growth.

Under his leadership, CTC aligned around a clear Brand Purpose, We Are Here to Make Life in Canada Better, anchoring strategy, culture, and capital allocation in service of customers, communities, and shareholders. Now in his seventh year as CEO, Mr. Hicks has unified the organization around a multi-year, multi-billion-dollar transformation strategy known as True North, designed to deepen customer connection, strengthen core business performance, invest in Canada, and deliver shareholder returns well above historic norms.

This strategy responds to intensifying global competition and rapid industry modernization by amplifying CTC’s unique strengths, including generational customer relationships, powerful first-party loyalty data, advancing technology and AI capabilities, and the ability to scale across retail banners, financial services, strategic partners, and approximately 1,700 locations nationwide.

With more than two decades of senior retail leadership experience, Mr. Hicks previously served as President of Canadian Tire Retail. He serves on the boards of Canadian Tire Corporation and the Business Council of Canada and previously chaired the Retail Council of Canada, and was a trustee of CT Real Estate Investment Trust. He was named Distinguished Canadian Retailer of the Year in 2023 and is a past recipient of Canada’s Top 40 Under 40 Award.
