Biography
Dean was president and chief executive officer of Sun Life Financial from 2011 to 2021. He chairs the boards of CPP Investments and the University Health Network, and serves on several advisory boards.
Dean qualified as a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and Canadian Institute of Actuaries, and is a graduate of the Ivey Business School. Dean was named Canada’s Outstanding CEO of the Year for 2017®, Ivey’s Business Leader of the Year for 2018, and one of the Top 100 Best-Performing CEOs in the World by Harvard Business Review in 2019.
