The Palliser Hotel in Calgary was the backdrop earlier this month for the highly anticipated CEO of the Year Award, which was given to Patrick Daniel, president& CEO, Enbridge Inc.
Sponsored by Business News Network and National Post, the award recognizes the chief executive of a private or public Canadian corporation who has been judged by his peers to have boosted Canada’s global competitiveness.
Other important criteria include the CEO’s sense of vision, leadership, social responsibility, corporate performance and innovation. “The Advisory Board’s choice of Pat Daniel as Canada’s Outstanding CEO of the Year for 2011 was clearly well deserved,” said John Wallace, president & CEO of Caldwell Partners which founded the award in 1990.

This national award program recognizes the chief executive who, by his or her peers’ assessment, has made an outstanding contribution in business and the community, demonstrating excellence.
Canada’s Outstanding CEO of the Year also established the Futures Fund Scholarship for Outstanding Leadership to recognize and mentor ten young Canadian university business students each year who have demonstrated exemplary leadership in their academic and extra-curricular initiatives.
